After more than six years out of the limelight, Phil Collins is back, and tantalising fans with the suggestion of a new tour.
The genius from Genesis launched his comeback in March 2016 with a gig for the Dreaming at the Beach benefit concert at Miami’s Filmore. It was a promising start for fans who last saw Collins perform live at The First Farewell Tour in 2004.
Those lucky enough to score concert tickets were treated to a seven-song set that featured some of Collins’ greatest solo hits, including ‘Easy Lover’, ‘In the Air Tonight’ and ‘Against All Odds’.
“I’m no longer officially retired. The horse is out of the stable and I’m raring to go,” Collins told Rolling Stone in October 2015.
His children, he added, had prompted his return. “My kids are now 10 and 14 and they want to see what their dad does. They were in nappies when I was last on the road. They love my music and I’d like to take them out so they can enjoy it.”
For a boy from Chiswick, London is a natural choice for Collins to kick off a much anticipated tour, and the high capacity O2 Arena would be the perfect venue. But with Manchester Arena, SSE Hydro and Hampton Court all in the running, fans are likely to be guessing for a while longer yet.
Whichever venue he chooses, Villiers will ensure you are in the know.
