Ed Sheeran’s 2017 arena tour will be wrapping up this June at the O2 arena but could 2018 see him returning to the UK and having a residency at the Royal Albert Hall?
As Ed Sheeran has announced a 2018 Australia and New Zealand stadium tour, we’ve been speculating a residency at the Royal Albert Hall could be on the cards. Make sure you’re the first in the know if this breaks by signing up to our mailing list.
After the phenomenal response to Ed Sheeran’s album Divide, it’s no wonder he had his pick of venues for his next stadium tour in Australia and New Zealand. Divide went double platinum immediately and all 16 songs from the deluxe edition appeared within the top 20 singles charts. Even before the record-breaking success of the album, Ed Sheeran has achieved sell out success at stadium gigs all around the world.
At Villiers, we’ve been thinking out loud that Ed Sheeran may decide to perform at the Royal Albert Hall in 2018. The British artist performed songs from the sell-out album at the Royal Albert Hall earlier this year in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust where he was praised for putting on one of the best pop concerts the Royal Albert Hall has ever seen. For artists around the world, being invited to perform at London’s most iconic and treasured venues is considered a great honour.
