Year after year, millions of Brits flock to the fields for the biggest music festivals. Whether it’s Glastonbury or Reading Festival, the turnout for music festivals never fails to impress. For many artists headlining it’s a platform unlike any other to debut their new music and potentially announce an upcoming tour. Reading and Leeds Festival
Taking place from 25th- 27th August, Reading and Leeds Festival never fails to impress with their star-studded line up featuring a mix of alternative music, pop and rap.
King of Pop, Eminem, took a brief hiatus from music but is now firmly back on the scene. Returning in style with the headlining spot, Eminem maintains a legendary status. Kasabian continue to go from strength to strength as evident by their new album release ‘For Crying Out Loud.’ With their album having gone straight to the top of the charts, it seems likely that a Kasabian tour could be announced at any point. A 2018 Kasabian tour would likely take the band across the UK and Europe playing some of the larger arenas like Barclaycard Arena and Manchester Arena or, perhaps venues such as the Queen Elizabeth Park or Wembley Stadium?
Muse will once again fill the headlining spot at Reading and Leeds Festival before flying onto to Australia to perform shows in Sydney and Melbourne. Though Muse has suggested a new album maybe a while off, they’ve suggested their next album would be more acoustic than their last 2015 album ‘Drones.’ It seems likely Muse will have an UK arena tour in 2018 performing their recently released stand-alone singles. Virgin V Festival takes place from 19th – 20th August 2017 and is well known for its pop and rock line up. A colourful music festival taking place over a weekend in Essex.
One half of the most powerful couple in the world, Jay-Z will be headlining at V Festival this weekend. JAY-Z’s latest studio album 4:44 went double platinum and topped the charts. JAY-Z has already announced a North America tour 4:44, but its expected a tour through the UK will be announced imminently. Many have speculated that JAY-Z’s wife Beyoncé would join him on tour in 2018.
2) Ellie Goulding
Last year Ellie Goulding announced she was taking a break from music, but it seems in 2017 she back having released a new hit single ‘First Time’ with Kygo. Ellie Goulding has returned to the festival scene performing at Mawazine Festival and will headline at V Festival this weekend. Can we expect new music from Ellie Goulding and potentially a Ellie Goulding arena tour in 2018? Ellie Goulding’s last album ‘Delirium’ was an instant hit so make sure you enjoy hospitality if she does announce a 2018 tour.
Having release her new album ‘Beautiful Trauma’ featuring the single ‘What about us?’, Pink is back for the first time in five years. Her new music and classic anthems make Pink an excellent act to see at V Festival. As ever, Pink knows how to churn out hit singles, but her music now focuses more on the issues affecting our society in a slightly upbeat style. It seems likely following on from her new album that Pink will tour in 2018.
