August is the perfect time to visit Botswana and Namibia. As it’s their spring, the days aren’t uncomfortably hot, and the evenings are cooler. It’s important to arrive prior to the rainy season.
Fly from Heathrow to Kasane airport in Botswana, as there are no direct flights you will briefly stop in Johannesburg before continuing to Botswana. The total fight time is approximately 15 hours. On arriving in Botswana, you will be met at the airport and efficiently guided through the Kasane and Namibian Immigration office before boarding the award winning floating 5* star hotel, the Zambezi Queen, where you will begin your adventure.
Once aboard this luxurious boat, you will go out looking for “big game” on tender boats and in the backdrop will be the golden glow of the African sunset. After finishing the cruise in the morning, you and your guests will board a private charter from Kasane Airport to the NamibRand Nature Reserve, one of Africa’s largest and most beautiful private reserves, where you will unwind for three nights in a luxury villa, from your private veranda you can look out over the famous landscape of the Soussusvlei.
In the evening, wander this stunning oasis with the perfect G&T in hand whilst looking up at the stars. After a mouth-watering dinner, a resident astronomer will walk your group through the secrets of the Southern skies.
The final day of the trip starts with a spectacular hot air balloon trip timed to capture the sun rising over the scarlet sand dunes. When you touch back down, a fantastic champagne breakfast awaits you.
