On Thursday, England secured their place in the 2018 World Cup. Led by Harry Kane, England came out victorious against Slovenia at London’s Wembley Stadium. Now, the Three Lions begin to prepare for the World Cup and by taking on their biggest competition now, they aim to improve their chances significantly. England is also expected to play away from home taking on Holland and Italy in March 2018.
Gareth Southgate has taken a gamble with such heavy warm up matches, previous football managers would suggest building confidence with easier games but Southgate has carefully selected the elite competition for England’s friendlies games in order to better prepare the England team for Summer 2018.
