On Thursday, England secured their place in the 2018 World Cup. Led by Harry Kane, England came out victorious against Slovenia at London’s Wembley Stadium.  Now, the Three Lions begin to prepare for the World Cup and by taking on their biggest competition now, they aim to improve their chances significantly. England is also expected to play away from home taking on Holland and Italy in March 2018.

Gareth Southgate has taken a gamble with such heavy warm up matches, previous football managers would suggest building confidence with easier games but Southgate has carefully selected the elite competition for England’s friendlies games in order to better prepare the England team for Summer 2018.

England will take on Germany on Friday 10th November at Wembley Stadium, Germany are the current World Cup holders. Germany are tipped as the favourites for the 2018 World Cup and after England lost against Germany in Dortumud this year, this game is incredibly important. It will be an intense game and it is crucial that England secure a victory to put them in good stead for the 2018 World Cup.

On Tuesday 14th November, England will go onto face Brazil who were semi-finalists for the World Cup three years ago and could be a major threat in the World Cup. England last faced Brazil in 2013 where they drew 2-2. Over the years, England has faced Brazil 25 times with the Brazilian team securing 11 total victories to England’s 10. As such equally paired teams, the England friendly will be a fantastic measure of England’s progress.
