What is it?
Very few restaurants in London have received such critical acclaim as Sartoria, Francesco Mazzei’s food has always been widely praised. The food and beverages take you on a delicious tour of Italy, enjoy an evening living La Dolce Vita at Sartoria.
Where is it?
In the heart of Mayfair on one of the most prestigious streets in London, Savile Row. Positioned between Oxford Circus underground and Piccadilly Circus station, each under ten-minutes’ walk from Sartoria. Sartoria’s address: 20 Savile Row, London W1S 3PR
Why we love it?
Partly because it’s authentic, excellent Italian cuisine is hard to come by but when it’s done right it is so many people’s favourite food. Hearty and comfortable, Sartoria transports you to Francesco Mazzei’s home region of Calabria for one evening.
Another reason we love it is due to Sartoria’s much loved sommelier, Michael Simms. One of London’s most experienced sommeliers, what Michael Simms doesn’t know about wine isn’t worth knowing. In 2014, Simms’ wine list was awarded ‘Best Wine List’ by Tatler and he’s more than happy to advise. For the ultimate experience, choose the intimate wine room private dining option where you can pick his brains.
How the private dining rooms work?
Start your evening with drinks at the beautiful Librare Bar, mixing Italian style with Old Mayfair comforts, each drink has been carefully created, providing twitsts on Italian classics such as Bellini’s, Negronis and Spritzes. The Negorni is particular impressive, and sure to leave you in high spirits.
Sartoria has three private dining rooms, one is the previously mentioned Wine Room which can only seat up to six guests, but you will dine surrounded by the finest wines from Italy and Michael Simms is on hand to create a personalised experience.
Two of the private dining rooms can be combined to create a larger space, the interiors are designed by renowned designed David D’Almanda. Head through the sliding doors away from the bustle of the main restaurant, to the soft grey private dining room with fabric walls broken up with wooden panels and beautiful fresh floral arrangements. Each room can cater for up to 25 guests for a seated dinner or 35 for a reception, but both rooms can be combined for a larger group.
